The scent of our pods is derived from only natural ingredients, such as fruits, spices, and herbs, which are applied to a food-safe carrier material.

How does air up® work?

You taste with scent

Most of what we call ‘taste’ comes from scent! As you drink, air bubbles carry natural scents from the pod through the straw into your mouth, where they burst. As you swallow, the air travels to your olfactory region, where your brain ‘tastes’ a hint of the scent—all while you’re drinking plain water. It’s science, but it feels like magic.

How do I clean my air up® bottle?

To keep your air up® bottle fresh and ready for action, regular cleaning is key! We recommend washing the bottle and lid daily—either by hand with lukewarm water and mild detergent or popping them in the dishwasher (if dishwasher safe). Don’t forget to remove the pod first and store it back in its resealable pack to keep the flavor intact. Let all parts dry completely before reassembling, and you’re good to go!

How intense is the flavor?

It’s a gentle touch of flavor, not an overwhelming wave. Imagine it as the cool distant cousin of your favorite soft drink, minus the nasties. With just a subtle hint of yummy aroma, water becomes magically more exciting.

Is drinking air up® safe?

Of course, we were also fascinated by this idea in the beginning. This is why we started tests at the German Research Institute for Food Chemistry (Leibnitz Institute) and at the Technical University of Munich in 2017. The results showed that the water is 99.99% pure. If you swallow some of the aroma (which can happen during the drinking process), a very small amount of natural aroma ends up in your body. This is comparable to the amount of aroma you inhale in a bakery when you smell fresh bread.
